Find Out About Timeshare Work

Working in timeshare, or holiday ownership, can be an extremely rewarding experience. For students hoping for a career in sales, tourism, or hospitality management, even just a couple of months work in timeshare sales will be a useful experience. It's a great opportunity to work somewhere warm, and earn some great money. In addition, some employers even offer flights.

For the very best sales people the financial rewards can be extra-ordinary. There are a myriad of jobs involved.

The marketing and sales team include: database managers, marketing researchers, tele-sales, tele-sales supervisors, tele-sales management, greeters, receptionists, administration, presenters, table operators, closers, after-sales, information technology, the list and titles go on.

Sales Representatives typically spend 3 to 4 hours with a client, getting them a soft drink, getting to know them, gradually introducing the holiday ownership product, with the aid of visuals, possibly including a short film. The sales manager will offer a spif (extra financial incentive) usually on a daily basis at the start of the day, as an extra bonus for sales made that day. A typical good sales rep will earn around £3k per month, but some earn far more. It's a personal job, and truly charismatic figures will do well.

OPC's (Outside personal contacts) need to be personable, cheerful, fun loving. The typical day is spent in the sun, handing out vouchers to potential holiday owners for free trips, car hire, and so on. The OPC typically earns a modest fee (Not in the same league as a sales rep!) depending on whether or not the person they send off to the sales reps actually buys. The persuasive, charming type will do well.
